Engineer Alaa Sami has served for 12 years as the Middle East Business Development Director for AECOM, one of the largest American Engineering Design, Construction Management and International Development Services Company. He has supported in the design and development of several winning proposals submitted to variety of MENA region institutional and private sector clients such as USAID, European Union, World Bank, Thomson Reuters, Al-Futtaim group, General Electric, etc. Alaa serves as a Lead Trainer at the Engineering Service Unit of the American University in Cairo teaching how to manage and write winning proposals. Eng. Alaa is a certified Trainer by the German Institute for Academic Exchange DAAD and the International Labor Organization. Engineer Alaa has a Master Degree in Construction Management from Brighton University, United Kingdom, 1996, and a Bachelor Degree in Construction Engineering from the American University in Cairo, 1993
Nermine Habib has 15+ years of experience in leading, managing and reporting midterm and final evaluation missions of development funded projects implemented by international organizations such as UNHCR, IOM, GIZ, EFE Egypt, Care International, Plan International and Save the Children among others. She is a skilled facilitator and trainer in data collection, data validation, analysis and reporting. When delivering training, Nermine employs interactive and participatory training techniques. Through using and demonstrating real projects’ stories and case studies, Nermine helps participants to get a genuine flavor of field life and to find ways of approaching the challenges of development work.
Nermine holds a double Master degree of Conflict Resolution and Peace Building from St Mary’s University, San Antonio, Texas and in Sociolinguistics studies from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. She has received intensive training in Monitoring and Evaluation from MDF institute of the Netherlands and has been awarded postgraduate diploma in Social Entrepreneurship and Grant Proposal Writing from Fort Hayes State University, USA.
