Irregular Migration Advocacy Campaign to Promote Positive Alternatives to Egyptian Youth

The 6-months campaign aimed at raising the awareness of more than 2,000 youth (13-18 years old), their parents, and school teachers on the risks of irregular migration and on available positive alternative routes, namely vocational training necessary for securing employment opportunities. Four district-level conferences were designed in four governorates in Alexandria, El Beheira, El Fayoum, and Assuit governorates.

The quantitative and qualitative evaluation covered key evaluation areas including

  1. Targeting and inclusion
  2. Value-added awareness messages
  3. Increased knowledge and awareness
  4. Partnerships with Child Protection Committees, NGOs and the Private Sector
  5. Local ownership
  6. The effectiveness of locally-based Advocacy Task Force.
