SIDA-Funded Innovation against Poverty Program

During the 3-days training, 20 Social Entrepreneurs shared their innovative commercial-driven ideas to serve the bottom of the pyramid of their communities. The training was tailored specifically to fill-in the proposal application of Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) Innovation against Poverty (IAP) Fund. IAP is backed by the SIDA challenge fund that matches social enterprises’ financial contribution with a fund ranging from 20,000 Euro to 200,000 Euro. SIDA representative and SIDA IAP program manager from Price Waterhouse Coopers attended the course and presented one session about eligibility criteria and what they are looking-for in potential applications.

The training covered the following topics: Defining direct and in-direct beneficiaries; development effect; environmental impact; commercial viability; commercial scale; commercial drivers, cost sharing; cost effectiveness and innovation
