Alaa Shaheen
Seasonal international development professional with diverse experience across a wide range of international development sectors including democratic local governance and decentralization, community services projects, civil society strengthening, youth employment, social entrepreneurship, women rights realization, construction of schools and infrastructure utilities. He has worked with non-profit and for profit and organizations including Louis Berger International, International Labor Organization and AECOM International Development and Beit Al Karma Consulting. He has worked in the United States of America, Egypt, Palestine, Jordan and Lebanon.
Alaa has led teams and participated in 25+ development evaluation missions for project funded by USAID Egypt, USAID West Bank and Gaza, Europe-Aid, UNHCR, UNFPA, UN-IOM, UNICEF, GIZ, Save the Children, Care International, Plan International, Drosos foundation among others. During these assignments, he has employed quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods and has placed particular emphasis on the development of context-aware recommendations. Additionally, He has provided technical assistance services in setting MEL system for organizations such as Caritas Egypt, Alex Swedish Institute and Ford Foundation Egypt office.
